A little corner of Italy in the heart of Ivanhoe.
Where it all began
L'Artigiano — the artisan — was born from a simple belief: that the best food is made slowly, by hand, with ingredients you can trust. We opened our doors on Upper Heidelberg Road with an idea to serve recipes passed down through generations, with expertise, good wines and friendly service.
The name says everything. An artisan is a craftsperson — someone who takes pride in the work itself, not just the result. Every meal prepared with love, every sauce reduced, every loaf pulled from the oven is an act of that same craft.
We're not trying to reinvent Italian food. We're trying to honour it — and to share it with the people of Ivanhoe the way it was always meant to be shared: around a table, with good wine and even better company.

Our gnocchi is made fresh each morning. Our bread is baked in-house. Nothing comes from a packet if we can help it.
